Achmea Bank issues € 500 million Senior Preferred Green Bonds
Tilburg, 28 April 2025 – Achmea Bank N.V. has successfully issued € 500 million in Senior Preferred Green Bonds under its € 10 billion Debt Issuance Programme. This is the second issuance of Achmea Bank under Achmea’s updated Green Finance Framework (GFF), dated July 2024.
The transaction was well-received in the capital market with broad interest among European Institutional Investors: 105 investors subscribed with a total volume of € 1.5 billion. The bonds have a tenor of 3 years, with a maturity date of 6 May 2028 and were issued at 62 basis points above midswap (coupon 2.5%). Achmea Bank will use the proceeds to finance projects in accordance with Achmea’s GFF.
The bond is expected to be rated ‘A-’ by S&P and ‘A’ by Fitch and will be listed on Euronext Dublin. The Senior Green Bonds have been placed by a syndicate of banks consisting of Joint lead managers DZ Bank, ING, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, NatWest Markets, Rabobank and Santander.
